I found out that one of my favorite bands is having only one concert this year. Opeth, considered to be one of the best death metal bands in the world, has naturally chosen to have their only 2007 gig in... Joensuu, Finland. Huh?
At least we have a bunch of good bands coming to Portland this year: Lacuna Coil, Epica, Nightwish... Nightwish will have chosen their new vocalist by then - should be interesting.

P.S. Sami probably should have mentioned that Joensuu, "the middle of nowhere", is actually in the middle of a bunch of lakes and that there is big festival there every summer called Ilosaarirock. Also I went to the University of Joensuu for one semester. - Sara

I (Alex) was so happy to see and read through your blog. Much of it is humorous and the photography is beautiful. Which one of you is the photographer? I really love some of the pics from Chinese new year, Oregon coast, spring flowers, aquarium, etc.

Oh, it's so good to hear from y'all. We're always wondering how you're doing. I think we fell off your mailing list. We haven't seen any pictures or news since you moved back to TX.
About the photos... I usually take the pictures, although Sami is getting pretty good at it. He took the one of Mt Hood on Feb 10th from a moving car. :)
Do you think you are coming to finland this summer? To see your favorite band in joensuu?
That would be cool. :) Although, I'm not sure if my vacation days (all three of them) will be taken by a trip to Alaska or something...
It would be nicer to visit during the summer, though. I remember the last trip... (darkness 20h per day equals sleeping through the 4 hours or sunlight)
