Markus and I only slept about 3 hours last night... so I decided to stop by Wal-Mart on my way home from the airport to see if there was anything there that might soothe him when he's fussy.
I found this bouncy seat that will vibrate or play music. We'll see if it works. Anyway, even if it doesn't, it makes a nice chair for him.

I read an amazing book on infant sleep called Babywise. Soren wakes up twice at night to feed and sleeps in 4-hour shifts. I slept from 10:00 to 8:30 this morning and only got up to change diapers and nurse. I highly recommend it. I think they have it at most bookstores... if not, let me know, I'll send you a copy!
We had two of these seats - one upstairs and one downstairs, and a swing. Chairs for baby are invaluable! When he gets a bit more back muscle, you can try a bumbo seat, and then an exersaucer.
